About Our Mindful Sensations Program

Who is this for?

You might be in sensory overload if you experience any of these symptoms: headaches, irritability, decreased concentration, dizziness, nausea, anxiety or fatigue.


Living in sensory overload can make life and daily activities challenging because the world feels a little too bright and a little too loud. Sensory overload can make you want to retreat from the world, sometimes for days, when you are just trying to do things you normally would.  


Sensory overload happens to everyone when their brain can’t process the amount of information being received from the senses fast enough. Stress, changes in mood, lack of sleep and hunger can all reduce our ability to cope with sensory inputs for a short period of time. When our stress level is high and continuous such as during illness, life transitions, or after injury we can benefit from intentionally using sensory tools or spending time in our sensory space to care for our nervous system.


This workshop is for you if you're ready to change your relationship with your sensory symptoms and discover how to take care of your nervous system when moving into overload. These are some of the common diagnoses of people who have attended Mindful Sensations:

  • Central Sensitization Syndrome
  • Functional Neurological Disorder
  • Migraines and Chronic Headache
  • Post-Concussion Syndrome
  • Long Covid Symptoms
  • Persistent Pain

This mindfulness-based sensory regulation program gives you the tools and skills to:

  • Build awareness about your nervous system 
  • Reflect on daily routines and their impact on function
  • Understand the sensory system’s response to internal and external stimuli
  • Learn to create and apply sensory tools to become calm, alert and grounded 
  • Develop a personal mindfulness practice
  • Practice releasing resistance to discomfort
  • Learn to care for your nervous system in the moment

Option 1: Individual Coaching Package (online) - $1197 CAD

  • 1 Sensory Wellness/OT assessment plus
  • 1 x 1 hour private education session plus
  • 4 x 1 hour private sessions that include a mindfulness meditation practice and coaching plus
  • 4 x 1 hour private sessions that include habit building and sensory exploration plus
  • 2 x 30 minute follow up sessions (11 hours in total)
  • Flexible scheduling of coaching sessions
  • Easy access to all sessions via Zoom  
  • Guided meditation downloads for creating a consistent practice
  • Course workbook with weekly homework activities
  • 90 day access to two facilitators with backgrounds in neuro-rehabilitation, mindfulness, self-compassion and sensory wellness

Option 2: Group Coaching Package (online) - $597 CAD

  • 10 x 1 hour weekly sessions or 5 x 1 hour 2 times per week (5 weeks) that include a mindfulness meditation practice and sensory exploration
  • 2 x 30 minute follow up sessions (11 hours in total)
  • Easy access to all sessions via Zoom  
  • Guided meditation downloads for creating a consistent practice
  • Course workbook with weekly homework activities
  • Access to two facilitators with backgrounds in neuro-rehabilitation, mindfulness, self-compassion and sensory wellness
  • A small supportive peer group (only 10 spaces available)

Who are the facilitators?

Mindful Sensations is facilitated by Studio BE co-founders Emily Becker and Shannon Ellis. Emily is a qualified Recreation Therapist, Yoga, Mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion teacher. Shannon is a registered Occupational Therapist in Canada (BC) and the UK and recently qualified as a Sensory Integration Practitioner.  Follow the links below to find out more.
